Summer is the easiest season to travel – but also the easiest to get wrong. Everything is open, days are long, and weather looks perfect almost everywhere. But that also means crowds, heat, high prices, and places that feel completely different from what you expected.
Some destinations thrive in summer. Others look good on paper but are honestly exhausting once you are there.
On this page, I’m collecting my summer travel ideas based on trips I’ve personally done – from coastal drives and island stays to cities that are still enjoyable even in peak season.
This will keep growing over time, but for now you can start with the places below. Right now, most of these are in Europe, since that’s where I travel the most.
