The Most Useful Guide to Bars and Restaurants in Prague With a View of The City

Prague is definitely a beautiful destination for any time of the year. But with warmer weather you just get to do a little bit more. Like visiting restaurants with open terraces and the most amazing panoramic views. In this post, I decided to make a list of bars and restaurants in Prague with a view where you can have delicious food, take beautiful pictures with the city in the background, and simply enjoy the vibe. Just keep in mind that the following restaurants are not among the cheap places to eat in Prague, and you have to pay above average for lunch or dinner there.

The good news though is that you don’t necessarily have to order a full course lunch or dinner. You can sit in one of these places with a drink, appetizer or a small dish without ordering expensive main dishes. In my opinion, regardless of your budget, a couple of these places are definitely worth a visit for at least a photo. Each of them has its own unique atmosphere and view. So, let’s start.

This post is one of a few I have about Prague and the Czech Republic in general. Take a look, perhaps you’ll find other information useful:

Complete List of Bars and Restaurants in Prague With a View of The City

Terasa U Zlate Studne

This is an upscale fine dining restaurant famous for the most magnificent view of all Prague. It is a Michelin star restaurant that often gets on the lists of top restaurants not only for the city but the entire country and Europe in general. Everything is exceeding expectations here – the view, design, and style of this place, quality of food, attentive service, and overall experience.

Terasa U Zlate Studne sits atop the hotel in a centuries-old building. It is a few minutes walk from Old Town Square, so you won’t have any difficulty getting here. The main dining room has wide windows from where you can contemplate the skyline but not all tables are equally placed near the window. You may need to make a reservation and request a table right near the window.

We personally enjoyed this restaurant more during the warmer months. It offers a heated rooftop terrace from April to October where you can sit and see all Prague in front of you while getting a breath of fresh air.

I think this place is particularly perfect for special occasions. If you have a birthday, anniversary, want to propose or simply would like to have a romantic getaway, Terasa U Zlate Studne restaurant will meet your every need.

Average Price: for the entree – 550 – 1350CZK ($24-$60,) for the cocktail – 220CZK ($10,) price for the dessert – 300CZK ($13). The menu here also offers vegan options.

Address and Hours: Praha 1, U Zlaté studně 166/4. Open from 7 am to 11 pm.

Bellavista Restaurant in Prague

The name of this restaurant corresponds well with the view it offers. There is a large terrace outside with a spectacular panorama of the city that stretches from the Petrin Tower to Castle Hillsides. From here you can see bridges connecting two banks of a river, narrow cobblestone streets, cupolas and life beneath you.

From our experience, the view is probably the best part of what this restaurant has. Service is very average, food is OK too. They serve mainly Czech and European dishes, if you are a vegetarian or not into heavy meaty meals, you won’t have a lot of options to choose from.

In my opinion, Bellavista is good enough for a coffee, beer or dessert but not so much for a meal. Also, waiters can get a bit pushy and keep asking you to order more. I wouldn’t be spending a lot of time here. Just go for a view and if having planned other activities in the area.

I recommend coming on a bright sunny day when the skies are blue and the horizon is clear. In this case, you’ll get the best of a city view.

Average Price: for the entree – 265CZK ($11.5,) beer 0,5l – 110CZK ($4.8)

Address and Hours: Strahovské nádvoří 132/1, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany, from 11 am to 11 pm except for Sundays. On Sun from 8 am to 11 pm.

Hergetova Cihelna Restaurant

During lunch on the terrace of this restaurant, you will be overlooking the river, Charles Bridge and the Vltava River boardwalk. The menu is quite large, and if you are not sure what to choose, you can order a 5-course tasting with wine. On weekdays, the restaurant serves business lunches.

There is a wide selection of appetizers here such as foie gras, grilled octopus, tuna carpaccio. Of the desserts, try the restaurant’s famous strawberry cappuccino with vanilla ice cream and nuts. When it comes to wine – try one of the Bohemian wines.

Any time during the day the view is gorgeous and it’s very pleasant to be here. But sunsets are the best. When the sun sets behind Charles Bridge, it looks so magical. This is the busiest time, so reservations are advised.

The restaurant has a chic interior and very good service, you won’t be disappointed.

Average Price: for the entree – 590 – 890CZK ($26-$39,) for the cocktail – 155CZK ($7,) price for the dessert – 300CZK ($13)

Address and Hours: Cihelná 2b, 118 00 Malá Strana, Czechia, open from 11:30 am to 1 am.

Lobkowicz Palace Cafe

Based on the name you can probably guess that this cafe is located on Lobkowicz Palace premises. For the view, I recommend taking a seat only on their spacious balcony from where you get a pretty view of Charles Bridge and Old Town. Locals love to frequent this place, especially during the summer, so it may be challenging to find a table with a view. For that, better come during the first part of the day or for late lunch. Or if having a local sim card, call and make a reservation requesting a table at the railing.

Their beef goulash with dumplings, soups, sandwiches, Irish coffee, and cheesecake are delicious, although they are not cheap at all. Most people come for the view knowing they’ll overpay for everything else. If you go to a museum and have a ticket, you can get 10% off any order.

Average Price: for the sandwich – 210CZK ($9.25,) soup – 95CZK ($4.2,) cappuccino – 100CZK ($4.4,) dessert – 130CZK ($5.5)

Address and Hours: Hradčany, 119 00 Prague 1, from 10 am to 6 pm

Mlynec

The cozy terrace of the Mlynec restaurant is literally located under the Charles Bridge so you get a stunning view of the bridge and river. It is one of the most favorite places for local people to have lunch in Prague. The restaurant is very beautiful with an elegant interior. You will be offered dishes of Prague cuisine, and the chef is painstakingly working to create more exquisite recipes for you to return.

Here you can enjoy the carpaccio, lobster ravioli, and steaks. In addition, Mlynec has a rich wine list with wines from all over the world.

Average Price: for the entree – 500 – 750CZK ($22-$33,) bottle of wine – 590CZK ($26,) price for the dessert – 250CZK ($11)

Address and Hours: Praha 1, Novotného lávka 9, 12 pm – 3 pm, 5:30 pm – 11 pm.

Terasa U Prince

panoramic places in Prague

One of the best restaurants in Prague with a view is located in Old Town. It is on the list of the most visited places among locals and tourists alike. It is located in Old Town Square on the fifth floor of the five-star Hotel U Prince. Due to its unique location and delicious cuisine, this restaurant often appears in the ratings not only as one of the top restaurants in Prague with a view but as a top world restaurant.

Its terrace offers a magnificent view of the towers of the Tyn Church, the Old Town Square, the tower with the astronomical clock on the square, and the famous Prague red rooftops.

At Terasa U Prince you can taste both the Czech cuisine (for instance, pork knuckle or roast duck) and seafood (salmon steak, grilled lobster.) The restaurant is not cheap, so if you’d like to save and only enjoy the view then order a dessert.  The freshest tiramisu or eclair with whipped cream and delicious homemade lemonade are the best.

The terrace is extremely small, so it is better to book a table in advance.

Average Price: for the entree – 300 – 600CZK ($13-$26.5,) drink – 150 – 200CZK ($6.5-$9,) dessert – 160CZK ($7)

Address and Hours: Praha 1, Staroměstské náměstí 29, from 11 am to 11:30 pm

Oblaca

Restaurant ‘Oblaca’ is located on the 66th floor of the famous Zizkov Tower, which is without a doubt one of the best observation platforms in Prague.

I recommend coming here for breakfast and watching how the sun wakes up the city with its morning light. This is a truly fascinating picture. Breakfast costs 390 CZK ($17) but is well worth it.

Oblaca is located in one of the most interesting areas of Prague Zizkov. A few minutes walk will take you to Old Town. This is a great place for a romantic date, or just for a cocktail. The restaurant is decorated in high-tech style, is not really famous for a big choice of dishes, but the view is pretty. The menu offers steaks, duck breast, shrimp, Caesar salad. Restaurant visitors can enjoy free access to the panoramic observation deck of the Zizkov Tower.

Average Price: for the entree – 260 – 655CZK ($12-$29,) drink –  140-160CZK ($6-$7,) dessert – 135CZK ($6)

Address and Hours: Mahlerovy Sady 2699/1, 130 00 Žižkov, Czechia. Mon – Thur 11:30-12am. Fri – Sun 9 am – 12 am.

Balu Kitchen

Balu Kitchen is one of a few restaurants with a view which is located outside the city center. You can find it in Prague 3 in Nova Vysočany district.

The restaurant is decorated in beautiful gentle colors, the waiters here are polite, friendly, and happy to advise what to choose. This restaurant is not similar to any other place on this list. I know, if you are staying in the city center getting here does not make much sense but I still highly recommend doing so. It is worth going here for the sunset and a piano play.

The view from the restaurant is excellent, although Old Town is seen in the distance. Here you can see the Prague district of Karlin and on the horizon the Petrin Tower and Prague Castle.

The menu will delight lovers of healthy food and seafood. The chef cooks an octopus, sea bass, and veal in some special way. Of the drinks, I recommend you to try delicious lemonades, coffee (good coffee is very hard to find in Prague), and wines from different parts of the world. The restaurant also has a separate room with karaoke for 6-8 people.

Average Price: for the entree – 220 – 550CZK ($10-$24,) glass of wine –  80CZK ($3.5,) dessert – 170CZK ($7.5)

Address and Hours: Pod Krejcárkem 975/2, 130 00 Praha 3-Žižkov, Mon – Fri from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm, on Sat and Sun 9 am – 11:30 pm

Marina Ristorante

restaurants in Prague with a view

Marina restaurant offers one of the best views of Prague, in particular, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Petrin Hill. The restaurant is located in a large double-deck boat where you can sit both inside and on the terrace outside. The menu offers a selection of Italian dishes: fish, pasta and homemade pizzas.

Visiting this restaurant is pleasant at any time of the year. In summer you can be enjoying views and light breeze while sitting on the open terrace, in winter while dining in the covered part of the restaurant. Service here is quite low though. The waiters are slow, they confuse orders, sometimes they give attitude and food is unappetizing. Still, people come here mainly for the view. Also, since the place is quite touristy, keep an eye on your check. Sometimes, it can have the wrong items on it. Not sure if it is related to how busy waiters get but receiving a wrong check is very common here.

Average Price: for the entree – 295 – 510CZK ($13-$23,) beer 0.5l –  55-90CZK ($2.5-$4,) dessert – 135CZK ($6)

Address and Hours: Alšovo nábř., 110 00 Staré Město, Czechia, open from 11:30 am to 12 am

Cloud 9 Sky Bar at Hilton Hotel

The stylish Cloud 9 Sky Bar is a rooftop bar in Prague and the only one of its kind. It is located on the top of the Hilton hotel in Prague 8.

The bar overlooks the Vltava river and promises stunning views. People come to this restaurant not for food, but for delicious cocktails, snacks, vibe, and view. In the evenings, there is also live music.

Cloud 9 Sky Bar is definitely not among the cheapest ones, but it is well worth a visit. The bar has a huge terrace where you can enjoy tranquility being right in the heart of the city.

Average Price: prices for drinks start from $11

Address and Hours: Praha 8, Pobřežní 1, from 6 pm to 2 am every day except Sunday. On Sundays – 2 pm – 10 pm.

Villa Richter

The atmospheric restaurant Villa Richter is located in the gardens of Prague Castle, surrounded by castle vineyards. It serves international cuisine and a large selection of local and international wines.

Villa Richter includes two restaurants: the luxurious Piano Nobile and the democratic Terra, both of them cater different menus. According to a legend, the vineyards where the restaurant is located, are the oldest vineyards in Bohemia.

From here you’ll find beautiful views of Prague bridges and the Vltava river. I would recommend visiting at sunset and in the early evening when Prague lies in front of you in full view and in the best light. It is very pretty at night too when the city shimmers in lights. Try local desserts, they are really good.

Average Price: for the entree – 390 – 690CZK ($17-$30,) bottle of wine – 490-3500CZK ($21.5-$154,) dessert – 165CZK ($7)

Address and Hours: Staré zámecké schody 6/251, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany from 11 am to 11 pm.

Slunecni Terasa T-Anker (OC Kotva)

The sunlit terrace of the T-Anker restaurant is located on the rooftop of the Kotva shopping center, opposite the Palladium shopping center. People come here to enjoy views of Prague’s tiled roofs and sample beer from regional Czech producers.

Here you can taste beer produced in less-known breweries, which is not that easy to find in other restaurants in Prague Old Town and suburbs. For example, draft beer Tlustý Netopýr, Permon or Samurai. In addition, there are more than 60 varieties of bottled beer from around the world and a popular bright orange summer cocktail – Aperol syringe.

The T-Anker restaurant is a true oasis of peace and tranquility in the heart of Prague. The menu here is small but everything is delicious and very fresh. You can get snacks for beer (like Hermelin cheese and pickled cucumbers,) Caesar salad, and main dishes such as salmon fillet, chicken wings, and burger. Business lunches are also served here during the day.

Average Price: for the entree – 169 – 209CZK ($7.5-$10,) beer 0,4l –  38-57CZK ($1.5-$2.5,) dessert – 79CZK ($3.5)

Address and Hours: Náměstí Republiky 656/8, 110 00 Staré Město, Czechia. Hours from 11 am to 10 pm every day.

Aureole Fusion Restaurant and Lounge

If money is not an issue and you want to enjoy one of the best views in Prague along with excellent food and top-notch service, visit Aureole Fusion Restaurant and Lounge. This is another Michelin star restaurant in Prague (if it matters) that meets every need of a delicacy lover.

Here, besides a spectacular view, you get to try second-rate wines from major producing countries, the highest quality dishes that are made with the finest ingredients only, unique preparation and presentation of the food, and once in a lifetime experience. As a bonus, you get it almost to yourself.

Unlike other places on the list, this one sees fewer people and is always quiet. Perhaps the reason is the price or that it’s located slightly outside of the city center. It can be a long walk to get here, but you can always catch a cab. Aureole Fusion Restaurant is located on the 27th floor of the highest office building in the Czech Republic.

Price range: If ordering a full course meal, you may end up paying more than $100 per person.

Address and Hours: Hvězdova 1716/2b, 140 00 Praha 4, from 11 am – 2 am every day except Sundays. On Sundays, 11 am – 12 am.
